Our Studio

A considered approach to watch care.

Waktu Atelier was founded on one idea: that a watch deserves the same patience it measures.

Our Story

How Waktu Atelier came to be

Waktu Atelier opened in Petaling Jaya's SS2 neighbourhood with a simple intention: to give watch owners in the Klang Valley a place where repair work is done carefully, explained clearly, and priced without confusion.

The studio grew out of a long dissatisfaction with the way small repairs are often handled — quickly, without explanation, and with little regard for the piece itself. We wanted to do things differently. Every watch that comes in is treated as something that matters to the person who owns it, whether it is a modest quartz worn daily or an older mechanical piece with some history to it.

Our work covers everyday servicing, full movement restorations, and strap fitting. We work on a range of makes and movements, and we take the time to describe what we find and what we recommend — leaving the decision with you.

The studio is named for the Malay word for time. It felt fitting for a place where time is given the attention it deserves.

Our Values

Honesty before anything

We describe what we find, what is necessary, and what can wait. A client should leave understanding their watch better than when they arrived.

Patience as a method

Good repair work takes the time it takes. We do not rush, and we do not cut corners to meet an arbitrary deadline.

Clarity at every stage

You are kept informed throughout. No surprises, no unexplained additions to the bill, no collecting a watch you do not recognise.

Nothing unnecessary added

We do not recommend services or parts that are not needed. Our interest is in the watch working properly, not in expanding the invoice.

How We Work

Standards we hold to

These are not aspirations — they are the way work is done here, every day.

Written Condition Notes

Every watch receives a written record of its condition on arrival. This is shared with the owner and kept on file.

Pressure Testing

Water-resistant models are pressure tested after service, with results noted in the condition report.

Timing Regulation

Mechanical movements are regulated and measured after servicing, with deviation recorded and shared.

Safe Storage & Handling

Each piece is stored safely with its intake record while in the studio, and handled with appropriate tools at all times.

Transparent Pricing

Work beyond the quoted scope is not begun without your agreement. The price agreed is the price charged.

Client Privacy

Contact details and watch information are kept private and used only for the service you have requested.

Watch repair in Petaling Jaya, Selangor

Waktu Atelier is based in SS2, Petaling Jaya — a short distance from Damansara, Subang Jaya, and Bangsar, making the studio accessible to most of the Klang Valley without a long detour. We serve clients who want repair work handled with care and explained without jargon.

Our work covers three main areas: routine care for daily-wear watches, full movement restorations for older or neglected pieces, and strap or bracelet fitting for comfort and appearance. Prices are stated clearly for each service, and any additional findings are discussed before any work proceeds.

The studio is not affiliated with any single brand, which means we approach each piece on its own terms. Quartz movements, older automatics, and hand-wound watches all come through the workshop, and each receives the same measured attention.

If you are in Petaling Jaya or the surrounding area and have a watch that needs attention, we welcome you to call the studio, send a message, or come in during opening hours. We will take a look and give you an honest assessment of what the piece might need.

Ready to bring your watch in?

We are open Monday to Saturday. Drop us a message and we will respond within one working day.
